We have just completed capturing new imagery for Gran Hotel Mas d’en Bruno Sending our congratulations as the have just been named #6 Best Resort in the World as well as #1 Resort in Europe.
What did we love about this resort? The hotel is nestled within a vineyard in the picturesque Priorat wine-making region. Upon arrival, we were serenaded by the singing of nightingales as the terraces were being set for dinner. The landscaping was delightfully untamed, resembling a wild haven where nature adds textures and colors in a beautiful, random fashion. The infinity pool, with views of the vineyards, and the private steps from the cabañas into the pool added a luxurious touch. The bodega was delightful, and the oversized beds and bathrooms provided ultimate comfort. The peace and tranquility of this little-known area of Spain made working here and capturing the resort on camera an unforgettable exprience. @masdenbrunohotel

During the Great Depression, this former bank suff

During the Great Depression, this former bank suffered a high-value robbery. On 18 September 1934, six handsome gangsters wearing trilby hats and suits stole $39,000 (half a million dollars in today´s money). The getaway car was straight out of a vintage movie – a slick, dark-coloured Chevrolet 1933 Sedan.
The Wayne Independent newspaper reported in 1934 that this was the first known bank robbery in Wayne county history.
Vault 240 – from a notorious robbery to fine dining
Now the Hawley Bank has been reborn as Vault 240, a private members’ club complete with chandeliers, live music, and the chance to dine in the same vault where all the staff were escorted during the 1930s robbery. Don’t you just love history? Vault 240 is a select, thriving, members-only social club with personal concierge service, and a restaurant that is already making waves with guest chefs from New York. There is a day spa, a speakeasy-style cards and roulette salon in the basement, a mezzanine-level lounge with a grand piano, a glamorous cocktail bar in the original bank teller area for sipping martinis, and plenty of cosy nooks to chat and meet friends in this unique, versatile space. The story begins in the early 20th century when the building was constructed as a Beaux-Arts style private residence. Over the years, it witnessed Boston’s dynamic history, from the roaring twenties to the modern era.

During the 1920s, the building played host to influential figures and socialites, becoming a hub of Boston’s high society. As the years unfolded, the property underwent various transformations, adapting to the changing times while retaining its architectural charm.

In 1999, XV Beacon Hotel emerged, meticulously restored and reimagined as a luxury boutique hotel. The restoration carefully preserved the building’s historic features, seamlessly blending old-world elegance with contemporary comfort. Today, XV Beacon Hotel stands not only as a luxurious accommodation option but also as a fine example of historic preservation. A postcard from Suite 307 at @thesettlersinn The Story Behind the Style
The Settlers Inn, built in 1927, stands as a fine example of English Arts and Crafts design. Native bluestone and chestnut woods are the foundation of the Inn’s massive structure. The building was built by the community shortly after Lake Wallenpaupack, a man-made lake with a 52-mile shoreline, was created in 1925. The forward-thinking Chamber of Commerce rightfully believed that tourism would come and they wanted to be prepared with the finest hotel for miles around. They succeeded in building the hotel that originally had 54 rooms. Unfortunately, the Great Depression and World War II kept the building from opening until 1944. After a series of different owners and incarnations, the Genzlinger family and friends purchased the property in 1980. It continues to be a labor of love.

Throughout every aspect of The Settlers Inn experience, Founders Jeanne and Grant Genzlinger infuse the true spirit of the Arts and Crafts movement, a philosophy which emerged in the 1860s in England in reaction to the heavy ornamentation and industrialization of the high Victorian era.

“The head had been separated from the hand during the industrial revolution,” argued early proponents of the Arts and Crafts movement, such as William Morris and John Roskin.

One moment that captures the #atentiontodetail In the world of luxury historic hotels, the Alvear Palace is one of the Grande Hotel Dames of Latin America. As a member of Historic Hotels Worldwide™, it sets the standard for luxury historic hotels in the Argentinian capital. It is located in La Recoleta, a neighbourhood seen by many visitors as the “Paris of South America” due to the prevalence of French architecture on its streets.
The hotel was originally built by Buenos Aires businessman and socialite Dr Rafael de Miero to accommodate the many European tourists visiting the city. Miero’s trips to Paris in the early 1920s inspired the hotel’s French-style interiors. It opened in 1932 and, in its own words, became ‘a model of the highest expression of refinement’. It has been part of the Alvear Luxury Hotels group since 1984, and in 1993 was added as a member of the Leading Hotels of the World.
The hotel has accommodated many notable guests, including actor Tony Curtis and his family while he filmed Taras Bulba in 1962, as well as Tom Cruise, Muhammad Ali and Prince Charles.
